eastside audubon educational signs
Eastside Audubon has a large presence in a major Redmond WA park (Marymoor Park). Part of this presence is two kiosks with multiple educational signs. These signs were first installed in the early 2000s but hadn’t been updated since they were installed.
I was contracted to update these signs in accordance with King County Park guidelines in 2025. The new signs include photography from a local photographer (Mick Thompson) as well as educational information including Eastside Audubon’s conservation efforts within the park, ways the public can help birds and birds commonly found in the park.

As part of the project, I led a committee comprised of a copywriter, map designer and other Eastside Audubon Board members. This project took about 9 months from start to print.
While the other committee members were gathering their parts of the project, I reviewed the park guidelines and developed some preliminary sign sketches. I also studied the King County Park guidelines for small signs and worked to translate these into large format signs (42×52”).
Additionally, I worked with King County Parks employees to ensure that the signs met the Parks’ design guidelines.
