I was contracted to create an updated logo for Eastside Audubon Society in 2025. The client wanted to keep the Steller’s Jay as their logo but wanted a more modern appearance. Additionally, they wanted a logo that could be used across multiple platforms.

process
I started with researching different nonprofit logos with a focus on those related to animals and wildlife. Next, I sketched Steller’s Jay in different styles requested by the client (illustrative, modern and similar to the existing logo).
I tested several logo options including an illustrative retro logo, a modern geometric logo and a updated version of their old logo as requested by the client.
The client selected the geometric logo with a larger bird, making it easier to see, as well as all sans serif text to match the logo image. Responsive logos for different applications and black and white versions were also created.
