Queen Bee Cosmetics

Queen Bee started as a personal illustration project but quickly evolved into a logo and packaging project.

I knew I wanted the logo to represent a luxury cosmetic company, so I chose the logo typefaces and colors for their modern, elegant characteristics. I also incorporated gold foil effects to represent the brand’s quality and sophistication. Finally, the packaging itself was designed to be elegant but minimalistic with lots of white space.

Project Objective: Logo & Packaging Design

Software Used: Illustrator & Photoshop

Process

I started with a hand-drawn illustration that I gradually simplified into a refined logo design. Earlier designs using more pointed shapes gave the logo a more aggressive feel. The final design used rounded shapes to create a friendly feel to the Queen Bee logo.

I selected the logo typefaces for their refined appearance and to complement the logo. The primary colors were based on the stripes of honeybees and the secondary color was selected to provide balance and interest to the design.
